With c+i Merchandisers all over the country, we have access to awesome cities we’ve never been to simply by tapping into our Merchandisers’ Instagram photos. Jenny Chon’s stellar pictures intrigued us so much we wanted a peek into what her life is like in San Francisco, California. She takes us on a tour through the Golden City by telling us the best local spots to shop, to hike, and to escape the tourists.

Three stores where most of your wardrobe comes from:

I shop at all different places, but if I had to name few places—Ambiance, Banana Republic, and my all-time favorite, Crossroads Trading Co. You can find some great things there!

Best restaurant for date-night:

There are so many great restaurants in San Francisco but for a special occasion, it would be Acquerello—AMAZINGLY delicious food! Maven in Lower Haight is also a cute place for a date night with great drinks.

Best place to celebrate a girls-night-out: I’m not much of a night owl. Instead, my girlfriends and I love meeting up for happy hour and getting to bed early! Some of my favorite places for happy hour are Southpaw BBQ, Southern Pacific Brewing and Homestead.

Best ice cream can be found at…

Ooh my favorite ice cream place is Polly Ann’s in the Outer Sunset. They have all kinds of interesting flavors and one of my favorites is banana Oreo cookie. They also have interesting flavors such as durian (which I have not dared myself to try) and tequila-spiked Mexican chocolate.

Your go-to hair salon:

I’ve been going to Jennifer at Overland One Salon in the Outer Sunset district for over 5 years. I love her!

Your go-to nail salon:

I don’t really get my nails done much and having pretty nails don’t really last long on me either since I love rock climbing, especially at Mission Cliffs.

What’s the best way to spend the day outdoors in SF (or in your neighborhood)?

I love living in the Outer Sunset and being blocks away from Ocean Beach. Even though it’s always windy, foggy and cold…I love OB! I just dress warm! My husband and I also love going to outdoor concerts and festivals in SF such as Outside Lands!

How do you find out about cool things to do in the city?

SF Gate and FuncheapSF.

Best local getaway? Why?

I love taking short weekend trips to the wine country (an hour away from San Francisco) and visit one of my favorite wineries, Jessup Cellars in Yountville and walk over to many great restaurants nearby. What’s not to love about drinking great wine and eating great food?

What do you love most about living in San Francisco?

I love the diversity…not only in people’s ethnicity, but in their styles…you’ll find your downtown folks in their perfectly fitted suites in the Financial District, hipsters in their vibrant colored skinny jeans in the Mission, hippies in psychedelic patterns on Haight Street, surfers in comfy Sanuks in the Outer Sunset and more. You never run out of things to do in San Francisco. There are endless concerts, festivals in different neighborhoods, and Giants games! What’s not to love about living in SF!

Best season to visit SF?

Everyone knows not to visit SF in the summer. My favorite seasons in SF are fall and winter. Fall because of the weather, but winter because of the holiday decor throughout the city.

What’s a great locals-only place for visitors who want to get away from the tourist traps?

I think Hayes Valley is not visited much by tourists, but yet there are tons of places to shop and eat and of course, the Outer Sunset! There are many cute little neighborhood restaurants and shops. For example, you can shop at Establish on Noriega, then walk down to the Pizza Place for beers and pizza. If the weather is nice, you can also hang out on the lawn at Park Chalet.

Can you tell us a little bit about how you came up with that idea of hosting an outdoor pop-up?

One of my friends lives in the building and was able to reserve the rooftop for the pop up. The only thing about having the pop up on rooftop was that it was very windy, but luckily, no birdies or jewelry flew away thanks to all those clothespins.

Holly Stefanko wowed us with her unique approach to styling her day-to-day looks. She’s a true fashionista at heart and expertly mixes-and-matches her wardrobe with our jewelry to capture the hippie-chic aesthetic. Since joining the team, she’s become a mentor to the rest of our Merchandiser community—eagerly sharing selling tips and fashion wisdom. It’s no wonder she has quickly risen the ranks to become a Merchandise Manager. Read on to find out what she and Jimi Hendrix have in common, and why she considers herself a “Chloebel.”

c+i: What is your style mantra?

Holly: Be your own trendsetter! Mix patterns, mix metals, put a flower crown on your head and wear a million pieces of jewelry! Just be YOU, there are no rules when it comes to fashion. Never be afraid to step out of the box. People will always admire those who are different. Oh and when it doubt…wear a hat! Love my floppy hats.

c+i: Who is your style icon and why?

Holly: Jimi Hendrix loved his accessories—a ring on every finger, five necklaces, a feather boa, and always a sea of prints. I admire the way he took a little bit of everything and made it his own. I try to think like Jimi every time I put my jewelry on. Jimi and I also share a love for head scarves.

Brigitte Bardot was one of the most beautiful women from the 60s. She was ahead of her time when it came to fashion. She mastered the craft of the messy up-do, which I practice regularly—and put the cat-eye and nude lip trend on the map! Brigitte and I share a love for ballet flats and headbands.

Nicole Richie is the epitome of Hippie Glam Chic. She is the ultimate flower child, but remains chic. Nicole and I share a deep appreciation for the hippie era.

c+i: What has been your favorite c+i purchase?

Holly: I would have to say the cascading feather pendant, the two-tone feather wrap ring—it’s my favorite thumb ring, I absolutely cannot live without the Art Deco stretch bracelet the Art Deco tassel pendant—I wear it with everything, the Art Deco chain swag statement necklace, and Art Deco long pendant necklace. Oh, and the Feather and Stone pendant and ring. Wait…and I absolutely adore the gilded reeds aventurine ring and the gilded reeds aventurine long pendant. This girl likes to layer…there is no way I could pick one.

c+i: Are you a Chloe or Isabel, why?

Holly: I can identify with both. I mix trendy with classic on a regular basis. I appreciate large statement pieces mixed with subtle classic pieces.

c+i: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

Holly: The French Riviera for its glitz and glamour! From the giant yachts of St. Tropez to the uber high-end resorts of Monaco and the star-studded Cannes film festival! It’s beautiful, it’s chic, and it’s a got great weather and even better food. It should be renamed “The Holly Riviera.”

c+i: Describe your ideal weekend outfit?

Holly: You can usually catch me wearing a Wildfox shirt or a vintage band t-shirt, skinny jeans, an awesome cardigan or jacket, a floppy hat, flats and decked out head to toe in jewels! I wear rings on every finger and have a constant arm party going on both wrists.

I love maxi skirts and I’m obsessed with denim shirts and jackets. You will always see me carrying some fabulous bag. The term “pack lightly”, will never resonate with me.

c+i: You are such an active member of the c+i community and we want to know what you love most about being part of the family and why?

Holly: The answer is in the question. The c+i community is a family. You never feel like you are in this alone, there is always someone willing to listen to you. It’s the biggest team of cheerleaders I have ever seen and I love that! Where else in the world can you see a community of people who are virtually strangers helping one another? It’s truly amazing.

c+i: What are some secrets to your success as a Merchandiser?

Holly: Never ever give up. Some months will be rough and some months will be amazing. You have to enjoy the ride. Always wear as much of the jewelry as you can, you are a walking, talking advertisement.

c+i: Describe a moment or time when you felt most proud of yourself?

Holly: After only being a part of the Chloe + Isabel community for two months, I got promoted to Merchandise Manager. Proudest moment ever! Now I have a team that is literally growing by the day and I couldn’t be happier. I am a certified GIA (Geological Institute of America) jewelry designer and because of Chloe + Isabel, I was able to quit my nannying job. It’s a dream life with a constant flow of sparkle. I am surrounded by jewelry 24 hours 7 days a week and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The cat’s out of the bag—we’ve finally revealed the theme of our highly-anticipated summer collection.

“Retro Riviera” is our vision of the perfect summer spent soaking in the sun on the beaches of the French Riviera and vacationing along the Mediterranean coastline. Everything about this dream trip is saturated with punchy florals, bright colors, and old Hollywood glam. We designed our collection with these fabulous starlets in mind, wearing their tortoise shell cat eye glasses, heads wrapped in colorful scarves, lips painted in a bright orange-red hue. What a contrast to the backdrop of sandy white shores and crystal clear waters.

As we count down to the collection launch (May 15th), we’d like to some of our favorite things right now, in the spirit of our “Retro Riviera” collection:

We’ve been counting down to this moment since we launched our 1920s-inspired collection last fall. Now with Daisy, Tom, and the other characters of writer F. You might recognize Mallorie Corcoran from our website—with her great sense of style, she’s been our go-to gal when we’ve needed someone to model our jewelry. After getting to know this fashion savvy go-getter, we were swooning even more! After all, she’s inspired by extremely passionate women and believes that self-confidence is the key to success. What more could we have asked for from someone who has quickly risen the ranks to become a c+i Merchandiser Manager? Read on to get her style tips and tricks.

c+i: What inspires you?

Mallorie: My personal inspiration comes from women who lead extraordinary lives and put their heart and souls into what they do. I am inspired by my Chloe + Isabel family everyday! I draw my style inspiration from NYC; it is a city of non-stop action and I get to witness and experience it all every time I walk out of my front door.

c+i: Describe your style.

Mallorie: Edgy, feminine and chic!

c+i: Who is your style icon and why?

Mallorie: Olivia Palermo is one of my all time favorite style icons. She is extremely fashion forward yet puts her own twist on trends by mixing prints, fabrics, and colors in a way that seems so effortless. I love that she allows herself to be creative with her style rather than be known for one type of look. She also prides herself on the ability to mix high-end designers with affordable ones and I think that’s what fashion is all about! Mixing and matching!

c+i: Are you a Chloe or Isabel, why?

Mallorie: How could I be just one? I’ve been described as a “Chloebel”, a mixture of both personalities, and I think they hit the nail on the head! One day classic and chic, the next, hipster and trendy. It all depends on the time of day and who I’m with!

c+i: What’s one item you wear way too often (can be anything!)?

Mallorie: By day, I cannot resist my Chloe + Isabel Smooth Metal Rings in gold or silver! By night, no outfit is complete without my Chloe + Isabel Retro Glam Crystal Necklace- this necklace will take ANY shirt up a notch!

c+i: Do you have a favorite quote? If so, we’d love to hear it?

Mallorie: “Dressing is a way of life”- Yves St. Laurent

c+i: When do you feel the best about yourself?

Mallorie: When I am dressed in a fabulous outfit, adorned with my c+i accessories and ready to take on the day. I feel my best when I look my best!

c+i: You are such an active member of the c+i community and we want to know what you love most about being part of the fam, and why?

Mallorie: Having a nation-wide extended family as a part of my experience while working for c+i has been such a blessing. I have connected with women of all different walks of life and can confidently say that they have each touched my life in the most special way. We have shared everything from personal stories to entrepreneurial advice to words of encouragement- the list goes on! This community is the heartbeat of our company and I don’t know what I’d do without them!

c+i: What are some secrets to your success as a Merchandiser?

Mallorie: Every time I was presented with a challenge or a curve ball during my journey with c+i rather than giving up or throwing in the towel, I looked at it as a challenge. It is astonishing what you are capable of when you believe in yourself and work hard! I have had challenges as a Merchandiser, challenges as a Merchandiser Manager, and now challenges as a Divisional Merchandiser Manager. These challenges have taught me so many lessons and have made me a better Merchandiser and a more valuable leader.

And of course my number one advice: Advertise, wear, and sell our jewelry with love, pride and confidence! Your customers will believe in you if you believe in yourself!

Merchandiser Manager Angie Awadalla caught our attention with her So-Cal chic style. She uses Instagram to show off coveted looks and partners with her cousin Nardine to showcase all of the unique ways to rock Chloe + Isabel jewelry. Angie breaks down her style mantra for us and offers foolproof instructions on how to look stunning on a time crunch. Read on to find out why she says she’s a “Chloe” and what the one item is that she can’t stop wearing.

c+i: Tell us how you styled the Crystal Strands Stretch Headband?

Angie: Nardine [my cousin] is actually wearing the headband that I got for her as a part of her Christmas present and she bought the matching necklaces and bracelets—they are her favorite pieces. What is amazing is what we do with this headband. It is definitely a hot seller at my pop-ups. Here is how we show how to wear it: you have a bad hair day? Fold your hair over inside the rubber part, twist, and voile! You’ve got yourself an up-do. What is so fantastic, is that it can be worn as a necklace to—it’s a headband and necklace all in one.

c+i: What is your style mantra?

Angie: My style is shabby chic with an edge.

c+i: Who is your style icon and why?

Angie: Sienna Miller. I love her unique Boho Chic style. I love her approach to the bohemian look which is extremely charming and relaxed but also very hip, which suits the Southern California lifestyle.

c+i: What does it mean to be a “trendsetter”?

Angie: A trendsetter is someone who creates trends and styles for others to follow. I like to think beyond the way something was intended to be worn and find ways to make it more fun and get more use out if it.

c+i: Are you a Chloe or Isabel, why?

Angie: Chloe, for sure. I love to push the envelope [when it comes to style]. I like to definitely stand out in a crowd. Big and bold statement jewelry definitely does that.

c+i: What’s one item you wear way too often?

Angie: Chloe + Isabel’s Sculpted Feather Collar Necklace.

c+i: What’s your favorite piece of c+i jewelry?

Angie: The Torsade necklace because I live in statement pieces. The style in Southern California tends to be more casual. I think California chic is the best way to describe it, which means a great fitting pair of designer jeans and tee. Fun accessories, heels and big statement jewelry [like the Torsade] can take this outfit—which could otherwise be boring—to the next level. The Torsade is such a great piece because you can dress it up or down. That’s what makes this necklace a MUST HAVE piece. It goes with me everywhere.

c+i: If you don’t have time to get ready in the morning, what’s a quick and easy way to look stylish?

Angie: When I’m in a rush in the morning, I throw on a pair of skinny jeans, flats and a slouchy off the shoulder shirt. I’ll throw on a couple of long necklaces, grab couple of rings, and some arm party bracelets and I’m good to go. When the weather is cold, I’ll wear boots instead, add a scarf and a well-fitted long coat.

c+i: Last but not least—we have to know—salty or sweet?

Angie: Salty.

With one Coachella weekend down and one more to go, we’re still excited about this year’s most anticipated music festival, hosted in Palm Springs, California. Of course, it’s not Coachella without all of the chic festival fashion. This year, bright punchy colors, crop tops, and high-waisted shorts made a splash but festival goers stepped it up this year with layering on the bling.
